Which carpet is right for me?

It may seem like there are millions of options when it comes to picking a carpet. It can be confusing and seem overwhelming. Truth is, even though there are an endless supply of options, there are only 3 major fiber types for most residential carpet produced today. The 3 major fiber types are: 1) Polyester 2) Nylon and 3) Triexta.  The most important aspect in selecting any carpet is the fiber.
When buying carpet, there are two simple questions that people want answered: Is the carpet easy to clean? How long will it last? Bottom line, this is a big investment. You want to make sure its going to last.  Each fiber has unique benefits that affect how the carpet will perform over time. Polyester is inherently stain resistant, Nylon is highly durable and Triexta combines inherent stain resistance and durability. Here is an overview of each fibers strengths and weaknesses.

Stain Free

Polyester fibers (also called PET fibers) are inherently stain resistant and are a less expensive fiber overall, which is great if your on a tight budget. If you need stain-resistance, this is your carpet! On the downside, the fiber itself is not as strong as with a Nylon or Triexta fiber. So you'll notice wear patterns much quicker (depending on wear).  If its just the two of you, and you are not really hard on your floors, this carpet will probably hold up for years. In fact, we have customers that have had Polyester carpet for over 20 years and it still looks great. But for families that are harder on their carpet, this fiber will break down quicker than either of the other two major fiber types.

Wear Free

Nylon fiber is almost the exact opposite of Polyester. It is a very strong fiber, so it will last years ,but is not so great when it comes to stains. That's where a good stain treatment is so important. There are many features of nylon that make it an ideal choice for carpet fiber. Of key importance is its durability. Nylon is a very strong fiber, and as such, it stands up very well to abrasion. It is also highly resilient and has very good texture retention to maintain its original appearance. It is also a more expensive fiber, so you will spend more for a Nylon carpet than for a Polyester.
The key to getting longer life out of your Nylon fiber is a good topical stain treatment or solution dye. The reason for this is that the nylon fiber is really porous. If not for a good topical stain treatment to "seal off" the fibers, it would literally suck stains in! The only problem with a topical stain treatment, is it wears off after time (and cleaning). Generally, you can get about 3-5 professional carpet cleanings before your topical stain treatment is gone. Carpet cleaners will offer to scotchguard your carpet, applying a new topical treatment, but its just not the same and you can have stains start popping up, and more frequently.

Worry Free

Thanks to science, Worry Free carpets give you the best of both worlds. Unparalleled permanent stain protection and a very strong fiber that will last for years. The triexta fiber is the biggest advancement in Carpet technology in the last 50 years. Here's why: The stain protection in the triexta fiber does not come from a topical treatment, like Nylon. It is engineered in to the very fiber, so that it will NEVER wear or wash off. There are no "dye sites" in this fiber that will absorb stains. In fact, its so stain resistant, even bleach wont stain it! Neither will mustard, red wine or pet accidents! And these are all covered under the triexta warranty!

Add to the incredible lifetime stain performance, super resiliency and core fiber strength.  The Triexta fiber is extremely strong, as it is created with a unique "spring-like" construction, allowing the fiber to continue to bounce back for years without matting and crushing, In fact, its so strong, that the Triexta fiber even outperformed the nylon fiber in walker Floor Performance tests (those are the tests that determine fiber strength and how it will hold up to constant wear and tear).
Really at the end of the day, what you what you want is a carpet that will last for years and still look beautiful. With our Worry Free carpets, you get the best of both worlds: Lifetime Stain protection and an incredibly strong fiber that will last for years, all at about the same cost as the nylon fiber. And just to science it up even more, these Worry Free carpets now have Nano-Technology (Nano-Loc) which make them the easiest carpets to clean, as it keeps the spill right on the surface!
